  1. question I’m using the NTG-2 with the Tascam Dr-40 and it does not sound
good but I think I have the settings wrong on the Dr-40 can you help me out
with this? I don’t know if Im selecting the XLR input or have the settings
right internal on the Dr 40

  2. great series of videos! well done and well explained. I have found them
    very useful thank you!

  3. Very interesting. I prefer the faster workflow so I use the internal dslr
audio with a Rode mix attached.

  4. Does its have a good external Sound Recorder that costs around 15 bucks?

  5. A nice introduction to audio for photographers/videographers

  6. So I guess for feature films, we’d be better of with a shotgun microphone
combined with a stereo microphone for the ambiance and setting of the film.

  7. where is you accent from?

  8. thx for great advices :)

  9. Question; I’m trying to figure out whether I should use an external mic
with input to my D5200 or an external recorder and put it on the shoe
mount. But the problem with both, is that I’m wondering whether either one
of the two will pick up speaking sounds from more than a meter distance.
What I’m talking about is whether I can get the great audio of a voice at
the same time when filming the speaking subject with good bokeh (blurred
background) for which you should take distance and zoom in to get. This is
mainly for short (action) films. So which one should I get? I don’t think I
can afford more than 1 mic.

  10. Great stuff! Thank you! :)

  11. Excellent video, full of useful information. I’m glad I watched this.

  12. Fench & Janosch Hey do you have any knowledge of the canon 70d if so which
dslr camera you recommend for filming D52 or the 70d? Thank you.

  13. Alright there! Have you tried – Pycane DSLR Camera Tricks (do a search on

  24. Whether a tutorial or review, you make the most informative videos for both
professional and amateur DSLR filmmakers that there are, anywhere- Do keep
it up! I should say there are numerous freeware/open-source/”freemium”
video editors (especially needed when working with audio) available, that
one need not pay a premium to have a decent editor. (One such editor is a
commercial editor called Lightworks, which has been around for almost 25
years, whose basic edition is available for free downl

  25. Thank you very much, informative as always. Can you make a video on using a
    loupe/hoodeye?
